Elegie an Sie op.1 (Elegy for Her) for Solo Voice with Piano and Horn

Carl Lewy was born 1823 in Lausanne. His father was the famous horn virtuoso Eduard Constantin Lewy (1796 - 1846) who lived in Vienna and played in the premier of the nineth symphony of Beethoven. He also went on tour with his children Carl and Richard. Carl Lewy played the piano and his younger brother horn. Two of these concerts took place in Leipzig, 1838 and 1843 (the special programme can be looked at here). "Elegie an Sie" was for the first time published by Hasslinger in Vienny  dedicated to Franz Liszt.
