Concertino for Horn, Bassoon and Orchestra op.43

- first print -
Ignaz Lachner was born 17th September 1807 in Rain at the river Lech (Oberbayern). His father Anton Lachner, organist at the catholic town church, taught his son playing piano, organ, violin and viola. Ignaz went to Munich at the age of 16 and became violist at the theatre. In 1842, his brother Franz organised him an employment at the Anglican church in Vienna as organist. Ignaz became soon one of the friends of Franz Schubert. In 1835, Ignaz Lachner became second chapel master at the Court Opera in Vienna. Six years later, he went to Stuttgart being court music master. Afterwards he was also employed in Munich, Hamburg, Stockholm and Frankfurt am Main. Ignaz Lachner died in 1895 in Hannover.

The Concertino for horn and bassoon op.43 is kept as a copy of 1908 in the National Library in Washington/USA. This work can be dated about 1850 according to the opus and the way of composition. The autograph score is lost.
