The music department of the national library Berlin keeps a concert fragment of a horn concert in E major of W.A. today. Mozart. The origin cannot be occupied exactly. According to the paper and document reports an agreement insists under musicologists that this fragment at 1785 -- 86 must have been made.

E major of KV 494 a should be composed, is unclear for whom the large-scale concert. Joseph Leutgeb for whom 3 concerts, Rondo KV 371 and concert KV 412, as well as the horn quintet KV 407 have been composed does not seem to have been. The concert movement on hand was not known to it. According to the Constanze Mozart (in a letter to the publisher Johann Anton André) the widow had the hornists Jacob Eisen "reconciles original scores for the horn". Fragment part ends the car graphs still got now with time 91 at the end of newspaper 4. It may therefore be suspected that Mozart did not end here therefore parts of this concert were further composed and have disappeared today.

Notwithstanding the impression that this movement is possibly too long for a horn concerto by Mozart, … Rom succeeds in supplying a solution that is very near to a Mozart idiom, and is at the same time well considered in every aspect and artistically convincing. At any rate, the composition which had its world premiere on November 26th 2006 at the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra sounds distinctly like Mozart … This is surely the best thing one could say of this kind of restoration endeavours.

To the author of the addition
Uri Rom was born in Tel Aviv in 1969. He studied orchestra-conduct in Berlin with Prof. C. A. Bünte and with Prof. Rolf Reuter, distant cembalo and old music at the Schola cantorum in Basel as well as music theory with Prof. Dr. Hartmut Fladt at university of the arts Berlin. At the moment he teaches orchestra management at the UdK Berlin and conducts different orchestras in Berlin. As a scholar of the Berlin senate he does a doctorate on Prof. Dr. Christian Martin Schmidt about different aspects of the use of keys at the TU Berlin in Mozart's works. Moreover, Uri Rom deals with composition -- outweighing this in historical styles. Its Rondo for natural horn and orchestras is Dohr at edition in 2005, appeared to Cologne.
