Robert Ostermeyer (born 1967) studied with Waldemar Schieber and Prof. Hermann Märker at the Leipzig Academy for Music and Theatre "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy." In the season 1994/1995 he was vice-principal horn at the Opera House in Halle / Saale. In the years 1998 to 2001 he worked as a regular deputy in the Symphony Orchestra of the Central German Radio (MDR) in Leipzig. He also holds a degree in conducting and horn. In the years 2000 - 2006 he played in the quintet Avanti. For Woodwind Quintet, he arranged various works, such as "Peter and the Wolf," "The Carnival of the Animals" and Mozart Parthia in B KV 361 In March 1999 he founded the Robert Ostermeyer Music Edition. Many issues are since that time been recorded on CD.
