4 Divertimenti for 2 oboes, 2 horns and bassoon (SWV D I/18 -21)
4. Series
- first edition-
The 4 Divertimenti edited here for the first time originate from the quite extensive estate of Sperger, kept in the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern library.
The pieces were created in 1781 and were probably as an outdoor music for the park he designed archbishop's summer residence in Pressburg (Bratislava).
The works were assigned to the thematic Sperger inventory of Adolf Meier (Michaelstein / Blankenburg, 1990).
The individual works have no title or a common heading in the autograph. 2 oboes are noted in the autograph, the catalogue however wrotes "Clarinetto Parthia oder Oboe Parthia", so that 2 clarinets would also be possible.
