Fantaisie sur la Romance "Ma Normandie" for Horn and Piano op.34
Gallay's oeuvre is very extensive; besides didactic works such as études and a horn method, he composed two horn concertos and various other works for horn and orchestra. In chamber music, his Grand Quatuor op.26 for 4 horns in different keys is still frequently performed today.
The present Fantasy for horn and piano op.34 is based on the Romance "Ma Normandie" by the chansonnier Frédéric Bérat.
