Joseph Fiala (1748–1816)
Duo concertant op. 4 No. 6 in B flat major for Violin and Cello
The duo edited here was first published in 1799 by the Augsburg publisher Gombart, in an edition entitled:
„Trois Duos Concertants pour Violon & Violoncelle, composés par Mr. G. Fiala, Oeuvr. IV Liv. II“
The violin is incorrectly referred to here as „Violon".
In this print, whenever the cello part was notated in the treble clef, it was written an octave higher than the actual pitch. The present new edition instead uses an untransposed treble clef in modern notation.
