This is the first edition of all trios by the horn player Franz Zwierzina (1752–1825). From 1782 he served as second horn player in the court chapel of the Prince of Oettingen-Wallerstein. Almost all of the numerous horn compositions in the Oettingen-Wallerstein collection stem from his estate, which the princely house purchased from Zwierzina's son in 1858.
