Concerto a 5 for Cornu, 2 Violins, Viola and Basso continuo

This concerto is found in the music collection of the State Library of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in Schwerin under the shelfmark Mus 342 and dates from around 1750. It has survived without a cover or title page, so the composer is unknown.
About the work
One possibility is to combine this concerto with the concerto by Friedrich Wilhelm Riedt (ROM 011). Riedt's concerto has a single movement and shows similarities to the two movements of the present work.
The two concertos share the use of “pedal” notes in the bass register, which are difficult to play on the natural horn. Both works may also have been written for a particular soloist. The literature mentions horn players who are said to have mastered the pedal notes, but this always remained a notable exception.
