Antonio Rosetti (1750 - 1792)
Parthia in Eb (RWV B deest.) for 2 clarinets, 2 horns and bassoon (first print)
Rosetti’s Oeuvre is amazingly extensive concerning the instrumentation. Chamber music, especially for wind instruments, is one of his main parts in his compositions. Beside the up to 13 instruments containing harmonies, for example the Parthia in F "pour la chasse" (Murray B 18), Rosetti composed also works for smaller groups. Many letters of musicians show their interest in ordering chamber music. This Parthia of three movements is kept at the library of Wroclaw, however not listed in the RWV (Catalogue of Sterling Murray).
This parthia is published in the series of the “Oettingen-Wallersteiner Harmoniemusik” by the Robert Ostermeyer Musikedition
