The Concertino in E major for "Second" horn of horn players Carl Oestreich (1800 - 1840) was created in 1830 and was dedicated to the brother Eduard Oestreich.
The Concertino surprised by the extraordinary low position, which, as almost unique in the solo literature of this period, the horn listed by sounding Subkontra-A. That early valve horn was used at the first performance, it may be assumed. However, the play was different than it is today, valves were viewed as an extension of the natural horn playing and allowed rapid change of bow and tonart strange sounds.
The edited as the first edition Concertino is in one movement and suitable with very nice solo and orchestral harmonies perfect for deep horn player and advanced horn students as solo work. The edition contains a Horn part in E and F listed in.
