This is the first printed edition, based on the historical manuscript copy by the Wallerstein musician Franz Xaver Link (1759–1825), the only surviving source of the Parthia. The work was composed around 1785, at about the same time as the Parthia “Pour la chasse” RWV B18. The manuscript is held by the University Library of Augsburg under the shelfmark III 4 1/2 4° 599.
