Georg Feldmayr (1756 - 1834) Parthia in F-Major for 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 3 horns, 2 bassoons and violone
-first print -
This work belongs to the series of "Oettingen-Wallersteiner Harmoniemusik". There is a wonderful and very interesting essay about Feldmayr written by Günther Grünsteudel ( in German).
This work was composed about 1787. The instrumentation with three instead of the usual two horns shows the special chasing character, also the title of the fourth movement shows it "a la chasse". About the same time, his colleagues Antonio Rosetti and Paul Wineberger composed similar works for the court.
